What is baptism?
Baptism is a public ceremony for people who have received Jesus Christ as the leader of their life and the forgiver of their sins, identifying with His death and resurrection in obedience to His teachings.
…having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
Do you baptize infants and children?
We do not baptize infants. When a child understands what it means to follow Christ, has received Him as the leader of their life and the forgiver of their sins, and understands what baptism is, then we gladly offer baptism to them.
Can I be baptized again?
Although the Bible only requires one baptism, you may choose to make baptism a more meaningful event in your spiritual walk by being baptized again.
Does baptism assure that I will go to heaven?
No it does not. Only faith in Jesus Christ can give you the assurance of eternal life in heaven.
He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved–you and your household.”
Does baptism make me a member of this church?
No, you do not have to become a member of our church in order to be baptized and you will not automatically become a member once you are baptized. However, baptism is a requirement for membership at LifePointe Church.
