In Acts 2 the Bible presents a picture of definable groups of people, who once committed to the Lord, identified themselves with a local body of believers called the church. In order to implement the principles we see in Scripture, including accountability and commitment to the local body of Christ, LifePointe recognizes the need for formal membership.
LifePointe exists to glorify God and make gospel-driven disciples of Jesus Christ by
engaging people
in the unexpected joy
of a life more and more dependent on Jesus.
LifePointe Church Membership Covenant
Having a relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, having been baptized as a believer by immersion, and being in agreement with the gospel of Jesus Christ and LifePointe Church’s mission, core values, structure, and statement of faith, I now feel led by the Holy Spirit to unite with the LifePointe Church family. In doing so, I commit myself to God and to the other members in doing the following:
-
- I will protect the unity of my church
- By acting in love toward other members
- By resolving conflicts according to Matthew 18:15-17
- By following the leaders
- I will protect the unity of my church
-
- I will support the testimony of my church
- By attending faithfully
- By giving financially to LifePointe Church with generosity and a cheerful heart 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
- By living a gospel-driven life
- I will support the testimony of my church
-
- I will serve the ministry of my church
- By discovering my spiritual gifts and talents
- By serving a minimum of one trimester per year
- By connecting and growing in God’s Word in a LifeGroup
- I will serve the ministry of my church
-
- I will share the responsibility of my church
- By praying for its growth
- By declaring the gospel of God’s grace and inviting my friends to attend
- By warmly welcoming those who visit
- I will share the responsibility of my church
