THE GOOD NEWS

The God of the Bible loves us and created us to be in a relationship with Him. We are ultimately accountable to Him. Regretfully, all have sinned against God and will be rightfully judged.

Thankfully, There is good news! The word “gospel” simply means good news. The gospel is this: God has acted in Jesus Christ to save us from this righteous judgment. The Lord Jesus Christ died on a cross in order to pay the penalty for our sins and to restore the relationship He originally created us for. God saves us by pure grace, not because of anything we have done, but solely because of what Jesus has done for us. By this we can be certain of God’s incredible love for us, regardless of our own shortcomings and failings.

We take hold of this undeserved salvation by repentance from sin and faith in Jesus. “Repentance” is an old biblical word that means to turn away from sinning in rebellion to God in order to instead follow Jesus. If you desire to receive Jesus as the forgiver of your sins and the leader of your life, simply admit to God that you have sinned and need His forgiveness. Tell Him that you believe that Jesus died and rose again to save you from the destruction that sin brings. Express your desire to turn from your sinful way of life and begin a new life following Him. Ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. Then thank Him for forgiving you and for the beginning of a relationship with Him that will last forever. A Christian is someone who has received this great gift from God and is choosing to allow Jesus to lead their life, instead of following their own desires.
